West Ta/aki, 7th April, 1906 M.SOBRB Shabland 6c Co., Ltd., Auckland, Dear Sirs, — 1 have pleasure in reporting on the use of your POTATO BUG HT EXTERM INATOR. 1 used the preparation practically in accordance with the directions on the package, first of all steeping the potatoes in tho liquid for 21 hours on the lines suggested in directions—afterwards placing in the sun to thoroughly dry, prior to planting. I planted in the ordinary way with the addition of a little lime in the drill—about scwt. to the acre. When tho shoots showed about 2* to Sin. above the ground, I gave them a complete spraying in accordance with your directions. When they were about 12 inches high I sprayed again, or when any indication of the blight showed upon the stalks, 'I he whole of my crop has turned out perfectly sound and satisfactory, although many of my neighbours who have not used this preparation have hit tho whole of their cr< ps; but those who used your preparation according to the proper directions, hive saved their crops with good results. 1 am satisfied that t his preparation is an exterminator of the blight, and at the same time it incrca cs tbejjield of the pot toes to a considerable extent. It is noticeable especially in regard to the improved flavour of the potatoes. Previous to this prepara- • ion having been brought before mv notice I bad used the Bordeaux Mixture, but tho results were very unsatisfactory. I have also used your POTATO BLIGHT EXTERMINATOR for blight iu cauliflower, cabbage and turjiijMi and have had splendid rc suite. Yours faithfully, (Signed) J. PILKINGTON. Mr John Pilkington is a large grower of potatoes and well known throughout New Zealand ns an authority on potato growing and other btanches of farming,
