NOTICE. fT HE following local agents for the Kawhia Settler have been appointed:— OPARAU—O. SPURLING KINOHAKU—H. DEREOOUKT TE RAU-A-MOA—E. EE PROU Subscription—2/6 per quarter (in advance). H. H. PETTIT, Proprietc-i West TamaKi, 7th April, 1906 Mtssßf? Sharland Co., Ltd., Auckland, Dear Sirs,— I have pleasure in reporting on the use of your POTATO BLIGHT EXTERMINATOR. 1 used the preparation practically in accordance with the direction? on the package, first of all steeping the potatoes in the liquid for 24 hours an tho lines suggested in directions—afterwards placing in the sun to thoroughly dry, prior to planting. I planted in the ordinary way with the addition of a little lime in the drill—about scwt. to the acre. When the shoots showed about 21 to Sin. above the ground, I gave them a complete spraying in accordance with your directions. Whon thay were abou& 12 inches high I sprayed again, or when any indication of the blight showed upon the stalks, The whole of my crop has turned out per feci ly sound and saHsfactory, although many of my neighbours who have not used this preparvtion have
lost the whole of their crops; but those who used your preparation according tc the proper directions, hive saved their crops with good results. I am satisfied that this preparation is an exterminator of the blight, and at the same time it increases tliejyield of the potatoes to a considerable extent. It is noticeable especially in regard to the improved flavour of tho potatoes. Previous to this preparation having been brought before my notice I had used the Bordeaux Mixture, but the results were very unsatisfactory. I have also used your PO fATO BLIGHT EXTERMINATOR for blight in cauliflower, cabbage and turnips and have had splendid re sulitr, r Yours faithfully, (Signed) J. PILKINGTON. Mr John Pilkington la a large grower of potatoes and well known throughout New Zealand ns an authority on potato growing and other blanches of farming,
