OPARAU—O. BPURLING KINOHAKU—H. DERECOUHT TE RAU-A-MOA—E. LE PROU BST Subscription—2/6 per quarter (in advance). 11. H. PETTIT, • Proprietor West Tamaki, 7th April, 1906 Mbsbrh Sharland & Co., Ltd., Auckland, Dear Sirs,— I have pleasure in reporting on the use of your POTATO BLIGHT EXTERMINATOR, 1 used Hie preparation practically in accordance with the directions on the package, first of all steeping the potatoes in the liquid for 21 hours on the lines suggested in directions—afterwards placing in the sun to thoroughly dry, prior to planting. I planted in the ordinary way with the addition of a little lime in the drill—about 6cwt. to the aero. When the shoots showed about 2i to Sin. above the ground, 1 gave them a complete spraying in accordance with your directions. When they were about 12 inches high I sprayed again, or when any indication of the blight showed apon the stalks. The whele of my osop has turned out perfectly sound and satisfactory, although many of my neighbours who have not used this preparation have lost the whole of their crops; but those who used your preparation according to the proper directions, hive saved their crops with good results. I am satisfied that this preparation is an exterminator of the blight, and at the same time it increases thojyicld of the potatoes to a considerable extent. It is noticeable es pecially in regard to the improved flavour of the potatoes. Previous to this preparation having been brought before my notice I bad used the Bordeaux Mixture, but the results were very unsatisfactory. L have also used your POTATO BLIGHT EXTERMINATOR for blight in cauliflower, cabbage and turnips and have had splendid ro SultP. Yonrii faithfully, (Signed) j. PILKINGTON, Mr Jubn Pilkington is a large grower of pototoos and well known throughout Now Zealand as an authority on potato growing and other branches of fanning, WANTED smokers TO try FLAKE CUT DERBY Tobacco in tho now TWOOUNCE TINS. !<• splondid.
