During the forthcoming week the local courts should be very busy, judging by the numerous challenges that have been issued in the ladder compe* tition. Last year the members of ths Ks whia County Club were p'ayicg foi a tournament, which was not concluded. Messrs Jsckson and Newton bad not met, and if t ;e latter won there was a play-off necessary. The game was play, d *n Saturday, when Mr Jackson w ->n, Al- H. Pettii *hus winning the trophy. There was a rec id attendance at tbe Kawhia Courrs, fully 25 playing member’being present. G od form was shown, especially by some ef th" lady beginners. Mrs Barron provided afternoon tea.
