Graham’s handsome purebred Clydesdale stallion was taken to Raglan from New Plymouth by the Kia Ora On Friday. It is very probable that the horse will visit this district.

Owing to the fact that there was not sufficient water on the Waitara bar for the s.s. Kia Ora to cross on Thursday, the steamer had to proceed to the New Plymouth breakwater to discharge her cargo. Unfortunately the steamer was delayed at port on the day mentioned, consequently Mr Rout was not present at the gathering. After supper, Mr Hodgson, manager of the Northern Boot Company, proposed the toast of Mr and Mrs Rout, and in doing so made an excellent speech, whioh was suitably responded to by Mr Rout’s brother, Walter.
