Public Notices. _ RULES FOR TH« Management of Xawhia Cemetery, Cuu.ity of Kawhia, New Zealand. 1. Cemetery Divided.—Such portions of the Kawhia Cemetery as may be from time to time fenced in shall be laid out in Sections divided into burial plots measuring 10ft x 4ft. 2. Section I. shall consist of Plots for Exclusive Right of Burial,—Any person desirous of becoming owner of any plot or plots for the exclusive right of buri&l in perpetuity can have the same, with all rights and privileges, upon payment of the following charges: For single plot as per plan, IO x 4 ... Section 11. shall consist of Public Gravas.—No rights or privileges shall be allowed in these graves, and after the expiration of not less than five years, may again be re-opened for the burial of bodies, other than friends or relations, unices meanwhile the surviying relations, by consent of the Trustees, have purchased the exclusive right of burial in perpetuity, in accordbinco with Clause 2. 4. Depths of Graves and charges for opening same.—No grave shall be less than 6 feet deep, and no coffin must be buried less than 3 feet from the surface. All graves shall be opened, filled in, and dressed by the Sexton appointed for that purpose, Child Adult under 12 over 12 For digging grave 6 feet deep 7« 6d 10s For dressing twice in six months j For dressing after ‘if required) JBs 6d Be and attendance > Warrant for burial . 2s 6d 3e Recording burial lx ed 2s 15s Od £1 0» For every foot over 6 feet the charge shall be at the rate of 2s and 2s 6d. 5, Monuments, Tombstones, Epitaphs and Fences of Graves,—No monument, head stone, or tombstone shall be erected upon any grave until a plan of same, with copy of epitaph, be submitted and approved by the Trustees. All fences, memorials, etc , not kept io decent repair shall be removed by the Trustees at the cost and risk of those concerned.

6. Transfer of Plots.--Any purchaser, executor, or duly appointed attorney of any owner of prirae grave, with exclusive right of burial therein, may iransfer their interest in the said private grave to any other person upon satisfactory preof to the Trustees of having proper authority to make such transfer, and upon production of the receipt for such private grave, and upon payment of a fee of 5s for such transfer and the cost ot all necessary duty stamps. 7. Loss or Destruction of Receipt, and ths Granting of a Duplicate Receipt.— Should original receipt be lost or destroyed, a duplicate receipt will be given to the person having tbs proper authority on the payment of a fee of 5a and the cost of necessary duty stamps. 8. Register and flan of Cemetery.—A register and plan of the public and private graves shall be kept, and may be searched or inspected upon any lawful day between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m, on payment of a fee of one shilling. 9 Payment of Fees.—All fees must be paid to the Secretary of the Trustees by the person undertaking tho funeral or Interment, also the following particulars : Name of deceased, age, number of plot, chosen date and hour of funeral, and officiating minister. Upon such fees and information being given, a warrant will be given authorising the sexton to bury, and such warrant must be delivered to the sexton six working houis at least before the hour fixed xor the funeral, except in cases of emergency, and then upon certificate from medical officer and extra fee of ss. 10. Time of Funerals.—Funerals will only be allowed between the hours of 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.; Sundays 2 p.m. to 5 p m., except in cases of emergency and on payment of double fees. 11. Vaults.—Vaults may be constructed within any section secured as a private grave by the owner thereof, but plane and specifications must be submitted to and approved by the Trustees before construction. All vaults must be lined with brick* con orete or similar material, and the entrance securely fastened. Coffins placed within vaults must be lined with lead or other approved material, and securely cloeed to prevent noxious vapours escaping and creating a nuisance. The fees for interment in any vault are the same as for other occasions, but the cost of re-opening and closing the vault shall be borne by the owner thereof.

12. Certificates of Death, —Certificates of death must, in all cases, whether in vault or grave, be delivered to the sexton by the person responsible, or the burial will not be permitted, 13. Previous Interment.—ln the case of all persons interred in the Kawhia Cemetery previous to the let day of August, 1906, and where surviving relatior s shall not within six months from that date acquire the exclusive right of burial in perpetuity, it shall be lawful for the Trustees to remove or alter sny fences, monuments, beadstones, etc., and that the graves as public in accordance with Clause 3. 14. Bodies not to be Disinterred. —Nobody shall be disinterred or removed from the said Cemetery, except by order of a coroner, or by previous permission in writing from the Trustees. 15. Offences.—Every person who wantonly cr wilfully destroys, or does or causes damage te any memorial, fence or other erection, wreath, plant, tree, flower-bed, or fences thereof, or wilfully disturbs any persons assembled for the burying of the dead, shall, upon conviction thereof, be liable for every such offence to a penalty not exceeding £2O, or to imprisonment not exceeding three months. The owners of cattle horses, •wine, or goats, which shall be found trespassing in the Kawhia Cemetery, shall bo liable for every such offence to a penalty of not less than 11 nor more than £5 in respect of every head of cattle, horses, swine or goats without proof of special damage and notwithstanding that actual damage cannot be proved or shown, NMC Ekaiusud in N«W ZIALANU IN iR 79 .
