THE OKUPATA LOAN.
(to the editor.) Sir, —I note some remarks made by Mr Jonathan and others at a meeting held iu Kawbia to discass matters of local importance. I object to the statement that the Okupata settlers had not asked for a loan. The settlers in question are as a class about the smartest in the Kawhia County. They have mostly been members of County Councils in other parts, and therefore understand much more about county work than the members of the Kawhia County Council. It was no use going to vote for an illegal proceeding. The fault is with the work of the County Council, and if the members do not know when they are wrong they had better come to the Okupata and we can teach them.—Yours, etc., KIA ORA EHOA.
