Te Rau-a-moa.
(FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.) The necessity for the metalling of the main road between Pirongia and Kawhia has been urged here lately, now that we have such an energetic representative as Mr H. J. Greenslide, M.H.R., and we are sanguine that be will take the matter up aud materially improve apon the terrible state of affairs which now exists. The settlers here are of opinion that tbe portion of the road mest urgently needing metalling is the 2| miles from the terminus of the present metal on towards Kawhia. The metalling of this portion would be of great assistance to our batter factory suppliers. A largely signed petition on the subject has been forwarded to Mr Greenslade, in the course of which it ns pointed out that whilst thanking the Government for the portion of tbe metalling already done, the initial expense of metalling a further 2| miles will be a small matter compared with the great good to the dairying industry in these parts that will result therefrom, especially as we have expended about £2OOO in the erection of an up-to date factory.
