THE COACH ROAD,

(TO THB KDITOB.) Tour correspondents “ Skim Milk M and “ Disappointed ” have missed the main point, vie , the previous practice and tbe unwritten law of tbe Government in giving £ for £ subsidy for widening our main roads. No matter what the County Council may with and do the Government have (vide action 3 and utterances of all Government officials) thoroughly made up their minds that the Pirongia-Kawbie road and the Kawh’a-Wellingkoa road via Mahonui road are main roads. That they will not give £ for 1 subsidy for metalling by roads such m the Okupata road is patent to all students of the roading of New E rnland. Tbe Pironga road, built and maintained by Government, would, without the slightest doubt, get a subsidy.— Yours, etc., INFORMATION.
