Awaroa.

(I ROM OUR OWN OORREPrONDENT.) The weather, until the last few days, has been extiemely rough aud wet. but the grass has nou stopped growing all through tho winter. Mr Humphreys has a hundred acres of bush being felled, with which the contractor is making good pro grea considering the »iate of tbe weather. Two more small contracts on tbe Awaroa-Mahoe road are being pushed on. Most of tbe settlers here are bu y erecting fencing, a large amount having been put up during the year. I notice Mr H. Babbage has soma young lambs. From the way the bulbs are li .wer ing aud shrubs coming into le-.f, I think we will have an early spring. The stock up here are looking very well, and given anything like go<d weather there should ba a lot of ynuug stock, both sheep and cattle, reared in tbe vailey this season, which means lhere will be a good many to go out to the saleyards later on. The Harris at Awaroa are getting some hundreds of acres of bu-h felled.
