Str,—•“ Nescio,” who is anxious to air bis nascent erudition obviously conned from an encyclopaedia or elementary chemistry book, I regret, has not sufficient knowledge ofc >mmercial science. For bis edification, formalin (commercial) contains 4 per vent of formalin, and can be procured from any respectable wholesale chemists at about 8s 6d a lb, and is extensively used by the port health officers to disinfect ships, etc.—Yours, etc., COMMERCE.
