The above carnival was held on Friday last, when beautiful weather prevailed, consequently everything passed off very successful—the attendance was large, the events well contested and close finishes resulted- The officials’ worked most assiduously, particular mention being necessary of tbo secretary (Mr E. C. Falwasser) who was, in every sense of the term, tbe right man in the right place. Mias Turnbull had tho refreshment booth and appeared to do a good business, as also did two or three bookmakers who were present. The feature of the day was the excellent chopping of Pretty and Russell, tbe latter showing greatly improved form. The various events reunited as follown: 1 100 Yards Open Handicap. Ist 20s, 2nd ss.
