We have bean asked to correct a statement made in a recent issue that the Awaroa residents were not ready for dairying. The settlers there state that many of them could milk next ysar, whilst the remainder would supply as aoon as a craamery was erected.

Ou Saturday night last a meeting of the committee appointed to arrange for the complimentary social to Mr H. J. Green>lade, M.H.R., on June 2nd, wa* held in the county office, when details were attended t<<. It is anticipated tnat the function will be a brilliant success, and we have no doubt but that the expectation will ba fully realised.
Oar Hamilton correspondent wired as on Thursday :—“ Robert Gleutappeared before Mr Nortbteroft, S.M., yesterday, charged , with stealing a greenstone mere. The tender of M>as Turnbull (£3 1b) for the booth was accepted. It was agreed to get the blocks from Riuga, 2t 3d each to be paid for block* and Is 6d for posts. Messrs Baird, J. J. Faiwasser and A. Brown were appointed a dance committee, Mr Sparling gatekeeper, and' Mr Bickering boundary rider. Daring the past week u load of flix was brought round per boat from the mill of Messrs Bell Bros, aud Ross, at Haribari, the trip being done io quick time. The return journey was a good deal slower, it taking nearly twelve hours to do the distance. A full load of mixed goods wns taken back and successfully landed. Amongst the Cirgo was a piano, which is said to be the any musical instrument of that character between Mokaa and Kawhia.
