An Unpleasant Experience.

Tuesday last, it wHllbe remain bored, was a beautifully fine day, in tact one of the nicest that has been experienced here for gome time past, and J. Neilson and 0. Holmes, of Kinohaku, deoided to avail tbeiuseiyes of the opportunity to go over the bar for a few hours fishing. Some hours were pleasantly spent and even tually anchor was weighed and a etart made for the entrance, where it was found that the bar was too rough to attempt to cross. The uraft was then headed for Albatross Point, tbo wind and sea increasing in vicienoe, where she was beached and a camp made on shore. The following morning great difficulty was experienced in getting the boat oft, and when this was successfully accomplished the occupants were startled to find that in the attempt tha rudder bad been broken off. The sea was again heavy and efforts were made to bring the Charm back to the beach, but without success, consequently the occupants had to take their chance, The wind was not favourable, and the yacht was battled about in on alarming manner by the heavy seas, the crew despairing of ever again reaching the land. This state of affairs continued until Friday afternoon, when the excellent seamanship of Mr Neilson and the good qualities of the yacht prevailed, the bar being successfully crossed and hd anchorage made at Te Maika. Messrs Neilson and Holmes were greatly exhausted through being out so long with but little food, and were highly delighted when they again walked on land. \V j are assured that fishing excursions ov-Jt the bar will not be seriously entertained by those young people (or some time to c ime.
