The roads are now in good order, consequently carting is work. Grass is very plenti’al this seaamt, the stock being to keep it down The Opera* Lawn Tennis Club is now an established fact, and the courts are kept fairly well occupied. Tb' jSe wishing to meet the fair eex shoudl join the club. There are too many bachelors here. The County Council has at last de* aided to taka advantage of Sit J. G» Ward’s offer of a telephone to Cparau, and it is to be hoped that work will bo commenced at once. Amongst our argent requirements are a bridge at Crotty's and a goods shed and lift to handle cargo, The Wharf Trust (so called) being useless it is time tbe County OomMB got possession of the harbour. Next season (as sheep ere falling to a buyable price) there will be a larger quantity of wool exported, and no doubt it will increase yearly, so that a shed and derrick on the Kawhia Wharf must bo provided. Those who were responsible for the endless chain at Kawhia being got in place of a hand winch, showed their utter ignorance and incompetence. Ts
