Kawhia School Committee.
The usual monthly meeting Of the above committee was held in Mr Falwasser’s Office on Tuesday evening 3tb, when there were present— Rev. R. Mitchell (in the chair), Messrs Turrell, Howes, E. Falwasser, Gosling and Newton. It was decided to defer discussion on school prizes till the first meeting in the new year. The committee decided that a treat be given the school children on the Wednesday breaking up, to be held at Te Maika. The chairman was requested to all arrangements for fencing the children's garden plots at the school. At the request of Miss Beswick the Children arc to be granted a half holiday to attend a concert given by her pupils. The committee intend taking action at the beginning of the new year in tb« of the non attendance of scholars, as the too frequent absence of many has bad the effect of lowering the teachers’, salary, the Government : to the committee, and depriving the themselves of their proper education.
