MR GREENSLADE’S ADDRESS.

(to thk editob.) Sir, —Being one of the audience at Mr Graenslade's inerting the other night, I must say that it was a very successful cue. But, there were some remarks in hia speech which 1 do not agree with, and they were not worth mentioning at a public meeting. 1 maintain that Mr Greenslade could not do any better than Mr Lang has been doing for this electorate. I noticed that Mr Greenslade found out several things around the harbour which needed attending to, and emphasised the fact that a retaining wall w»« needed round the pobutakawa trees on the Kawhia Beach, and the matter ot the road between Kawhia ; and Oparau. The last mentioned j work is a very important one indeed, I but how long has Mr Lang been agitati ing for this road and the bridge at the i Ferry ? The akouse the Government give for not carrying out this work is that no money is available, and such being the case, ho> could Mr Greenslade do any better than Mr Lang ? I know that Mr Lang has tried to get the pobutukawa tre® protected, and I also know that the biggest part of his time ia occupied in endeavouring to get the needs oF4be> back-block settler attended to. Hgpy ot your readers, Mr Editor, -nway with the idea 1 that Mr Lang is an Oppositionist, i but I assert that he is not; be is ar Independent, which fact he will no doubt prove when be visits here shortly. Another cry is that he has. been in the House too long, and it is time we had a change. Very well, why not put Seddon out, too ? Let us all support Mr Lang, who is a very fair and square member, and one whom we know well. He has thoroughly satisfied the majority of the Waikato electors for the past 12 years, and 1 don’t think be lies done Anything in the Home he need ba ashamed of.—Yours, etc., A SETTLER.
