Wedding Bells.

JQUKD YIN—MARTIN. A very populai wedding was celebrated at All RaiMU’ Church, Ekham, on SMurday, parties being MLs Agues ia>xrtii), daughter Mr C. Martin, of Eltham, and Mr L. A 4 Jourdain, of Oparau (Kawhia). Tho church wa= cnnfnrtably filled by visitors ami friend and the care many was performed by the Rjv I?. W. T. McConnel. The bride, who was given away by her father, was dressed in a well fitting grey tweed travelling dress and brown straw hat, trimmed wi r h shaded roses. The bridesmaid was Miss Lizzie Mclvor (Strafford), who also wore a neat grey tweed dress & white bat trimmed with pde blue chiffon. Mr M. Jourdain, brother of the bridegroom, attended as best man. After the ceremony a rec plion held at the residence of the bride's parents, Tayler Street, 59 guests being present. His Worship the Mayot, Mr G. W. Tayler, presided, and in a fcliei tpus spesph proposed the health nf the bride and bridegroom, remarking on the bride's' honourable career in El ‘ uam, she having betfh for seven jeu’s a highly successful teacher at the High School. | Thiß bridegroom suitably responded. McOonnel proposed the health of the bride’s parents, in a highly complimentary speech, dealing with Mr and Mrs Martin’s long asso ciation with Eltham, they being numbered amongst the pioneers. Mr Martin, modestly responded. The happy couple left in the evening for Stratford, en route to Auck land, where the honeymoon is to bte spent, prior to taking up their residence atiheir new home.
