COUNTY COUNCIL MATTERS.
(to THE EDITOK.) Sir, —Can you inform me whether the members of the Kawhia County Council assemble here monthly to transact businees or to listen to a Parliamentary speech by the chairman ? During the last sitting I had occasion to pass the place whfere tbe meeting ’ was held and overheard the chairman giving -air address on toads, the evidence given befdre'tbe Land Commission, etc.; returning half-an-hbur I later tbe same gentlemen was still I speaking. I think it is time the counl oil got'to work.—Yours, etc.,
