The following candidates have been elooted unopposed for the various rid» iogs j Te Ran-a-Moa: William J» Hoff-

man. Otorobanga : Frank Foray th Thomson. Hangatiki: Alexander Scholia. Waitomo: Adam Callander McOardle. Paemako ; Nicholas Irwiu Hunt. For the Maiioa ridiug no one was Dominated. Two candidates were nominated for the Te Kaiti Riding, and the result of the polling was— Mr Jerimiah Ormsby 33 Mr Walker 11

We understand that owing to some error in the compilation of the rolls two candidates were returned unopposed, whereas other nominations were received, but proved to be invalid. For the Te Rau-a-moa Riding Messrs Judd and Hoffman were nominated, but when they were lodged it was found that Mr Judd’s name was not on the roll, consequently bo was not eligible for election. In the Waitomo Riding another settler was nominated against Mr M'Cardle, but, unfortunately, the name of one of the settles who signed the paper bad been omitted, which rendered this nomination also invalid,
