Land Ballot.

The strong demand that exists for land in this district was shows by the fact that there were 454 applicants (or the 30 sections of first class bosh land thrown open for selection at the Crown Lands Office. The sections comprised 4,816 acres of land, situated in Awakino and Waitumo counties.
