DOINGS AT WELLINGTON. - i By Telegraph.
Wellington, Wednesday. Speaking tbe other evening On the Noxious Weeds Bill, Mr Lang, M.H,R. urged that the Government should do more to keep their reserves and rail, way property, and also the Native land and Crown tenant holdings foee from noxious weeds. They set a good example, and it was useless to compel private persons to ejear their lard while Government property was a hot-bed of weeds. Much corrfespoudence had taken place on th!? subject in .he recess between himself and the Minister for Agriculture, and. he was surprised that after the statement made by the Premier at Hamilton so little bad been done. : ' Z f Auckland province members held & meeting to consider the needs jof the district. Among other matters brought forward, was a demand by Mr Lang for tbe suifvey of the’ railway from Kawhia to the Maia Trunk Line and to also open up all Native. Lands. Most of tbe matters were ‘placed on the list of questions, to be urged upon the attention of the Government, probably by deputation.
