KAWHIA HARBOUR RAILWAY.
(to tbs editor.)
biß, —barely Mr Lawrence Armitage must here had a revere attack ot " liver ” when be penned the clever epistle in jour last issue. No, 10-A., the league is called the “ Kawhia Barboor Railway lieague,” and I hope you will kindly remember the feet as it has bean mentioned to you before. What if the line cornea up the Marokopa Valley? What price the railway then, eh f' I believe L.A. wrote that letter, but I'm also satisfied that tue idea was given to him by some other person. Talking about this railway, I remember a witness at Kinobaku informed the Royal Commission that "the Government bad done well as far as roads were oonouned," so it is obvious that a railway is the next step. But perhaps remorse hei< strack the witness, as he did not reach his home* > stead the same day that be gave rfdeuce owing to the impavuibla state of tbs roads which bo had commended, in .he morning. I would like t- > all work together to get a railway to ths Kawhia Harbour as it would bo a grand thing for the whole district, and in conclusion would remind all dissenters of toe old adage, *• Veiled we stand, divided we tall."—Yours, etc., D. MDONALD.
