Lawn Tennis.
On Easter Monday a very enjoyable tenuis tournament was held on the courts of the Kawhia Lawn Tecnis Club, for trophies preeentled ay Mrs Howes. The weather was showery which made the ground slippery and the balls heavy, consequently the play shown was not of a very high order. However, the games were well contested, and were watched with interest by a good number of spectators, the honours eventually failing to Messrs H. Pettit and E. Fal wasser. Afternoon tea was kiodly provided by the ladies. The various games resulted as follows: Messrs Pettit and E. Falwasso* bed! Jlpsgrs Jourdam, 50—85. Mr and Mrs M'Carthy beat Messrs Pettit and Falwasser, 50—33. Messrs Pettit and Falwasser beat Mr Jonathan and Miss Stevens, SOBS. Messrs Gosling and Jourdain beat Mr and Mrs M‘Carthy» 50—42. Mr Jonathan and Miss Stevens beat Messrs Gosling and Jourdain, 50—40. Mr Jonathan and Miss Stevens beat Mr and Mrs McCarthy, 50—84. FINA T .. Messrs Pettit and Falwasser beat Mr Jonathan and Miss Stevens, 50— 40, and won the tournament.
