Kawhia Hash Rases.
A meeting of members of the above was held in ths Brrrm Office on Friday night last, when about IS attended, the meeting being presided over by Dr Jenkins. The report of the course c immittea was read, and the recommendation that a course at Maketu, which could be had for the day for the sum of £fi, be secund, was agreed to. The programme, as drawn np by Messrs Turrell and Gosling, was adopted, with the exception of the Forced Handicap, which was altered to a Con solation Handicap, tor all unsuccessful horses. It was resolved that the club have 200 cards printed and roll on their own account; that tenders be called in the Kawbia Bettl&b for lhe refreshment booth; that the club hold the gates ; that all guarantors ba entitled to a member’s ticket; that 100 member’s tickets be printed; that no shooting galleries be allowed on the course; that guarantors be asked to pay in the sum of £1 before March 7tb ; that the secretary arrange n the attendance of the band ; that the secretary comminuoate with the secretary of the Auckland Racing Club, asking what position the club were placed in should an accident happen to one of the spec tators. The meeting closed with a vote of thanks to the chairman. On- Monday last a working bee to fix up the course was held, when about half-a-dozen members put in an appearance, and a satisfactory afternoon’s work was accomplished.;
