(to THU EDITOR.) Sis,—l have read with pleasure your criticism of my reply to yoar statement that we should either have total prohibition ot nona at all. Your reply does not in any way grasp the meaning my tetter conveys. In your leading article you said that you were not in favour of prohibition unless national. lam glad to see that you are an advocate of prohibition. Regarding the licensed sale ot grog: if a imagine that a license and proi inspection prevents adulterated grog being sold, as far as New Zealand is concerned you are mistaken, as all those who have coma in contact with the stuff odd as whisky and beer know. Regarding your remarks about having altered my tetter to make it read intelligently, 1 have a copy here, as also of this. I will subscribe to yoar paper next time I godown to tne port tf Kawhia. Re the editoral chair : to far as I can see yon are (although perhaps as your name designates, small) not so bad, and I also see an improvement in' the paper since you lilted the chair, although I do not say you oiuld fill it so wdl as, yours, ate., G.
