Waitomo Caves.

At a meeting of the Crown Lands Board on Friday, Mr Greenslade said he had recently visited tbe old and'

new caves at Waitomo and was surprised st their vastness and uiagnificence. He stated that stalactites were being damaged and removed and urged that the caves should be taken over by the Government and lighted by electricity, white the roads to the caves should also be improved. He predicted that the caves would be visited by hundreds, as their marvellous beauty and magnitude became more widely known.
