The General Elections.
Although the etec'iraa will no* he bold kill about the rad of November, many candidates are already in the held (or the ruira. eleotorates. In our leak issue we announced kbe naaaa of several gentlemen who intended contenting the Pcbiatua seat, end we have since been informed tbet oer respected townsman. Mr W. W. M'Oardle, is-tfmost certain to be e candidate for that electorate in the Government interests. It would in AeCd baa good thing for this part of the colony were Ms M’Cardle to be elected for Pahi.tua, es. although w* feel sure he would always be watching tbe interests of his constituents, there would always.be a friend at court who would know the requirements of Kawbia and district better than any member who could be elected to represent Waikato. There is no doubt that the fight for the Vahiataa seat will be keenly watchadby residents of this district. We learn from very goed authority tbar Mr Greenatede will again contest t' e Waikato seat in the interests of tha Government, haviog already commenced the campaign. Our informant, who is a gentleman who knows the Waikato very well, adds that Mr Greens lade is gaining much supportin the Hamilton district. Mr Lang, our present member, will again be a candidate, and is sure of a majority at tbe local polling booths, for tbe electors * recognise that Mr Lang has proved himself to he a most, iodefatigible ■nd conscientious representative.
