(XBOM <>VR OWN TOHREBPONDBNT.) The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Aff.no. Co. held their summer sale ol cattle here on Wednesday, there being come 700 head yarded. The sate was wall attended, prices maintaining the present average. As to their condition, the oatuwbore traces of the Inolement seaaoii we have experienced. On the wKnigl the sale wae very recMostul, ths , ,«nge being £3OO over the previous sale. In the evening a number of settlers and those interested in county matten met the delegates from Kawbia, Ta Bau-a-moa, Awaroa and Kinohaka re the question of boundaries. Mr Imng, M.H.B. pnridod. Mr W. W.

M'Oardle, of Kawbia, spoke as to ibe desirability of coming to a settlement of the question that mgbt. Mr John Ormsby (Otorohanga) regretted the short notice be had received, which bad not given him time to call the Otorohanga settlers together to discuss ibe matter. Even some of the Te Kuiti committee were doubtful of their authority. Mr M'Cardle made a powerful speech, in the course of which he stated that as the thirds were now due it was necessary to act at once before the thirds were taken by the Boade Department. Eventually the plan was produced and the boundaries discussed, but unfortunately the Kawbia delegates bad not a tree band as to the most vexed question., vis., the Te Bau-a-moa settlement, consequently the meeting was somewhat abortive. Since the meetting a suggestion has been made that the settlers at Te Rau-a moa who reside within the disputed boundary should be called together and settle ibe question between themselves, Kawhia and Waitomo to loyally abide by their decision. There is no difficulty in arranging the other portion of the boundary. . . . , Fine, warm weather has set m and should it be maintained we should get some successful burns.
