Ano ko te Okiha, " Ki teaha ra 1" Ka mea atu te Hoiho, "Kia haere atu koe kite kainga o Niho-tetea kite parau i tana mar a." Ka mea atu te Okiha, " Kowai he hoa moku kite parau ?" Ano ko tera, " Ko te hoa mou ki taua makij ko te Hoiho puhinahina nana ra i ngau te pokohiwi o Tutewehiwehi i houanga." Ka whakahokia atu
e te Okiha, ka ki atu, "Koia naka e ho, te take i tonoa mai ai koe e Niho-tetea ?" Ka mea atu te totitoti ra, " Ae ra hoki e kiha." Katahi te Okiha ka mea atu, "E ho, haere mai, haere ki a Niho-tetea ki atu, ekore ahau e tae atu. Ekore maua ko tena hoiho puhinahina e pea. Ki te tere tana haere, kite puhoi taku haere, kua ngangare maua i kona; kua whanawhana ia r kua wero ahau ki aku taringapihi, a ka liihinga i kona, pakaru tonu atu te parau. Kia mai koe e Ho, he hoiho ki °te hoiho, he kau ano kite kau, kia tae atu ai nga mahi kite opitotanga paitanga."
