SHIPS OF THE DESERT.
THE MODERN PATTERN. Cairo, Wednesday. Two iron boats were captured on the banks of the Suez Canal. They hold forty men, and are elaborately finished. They can be used as a boat or as a pontoon. They have silent oars with metal blades, and were uaed as water reservoirs on the march over the desert. A number of similar boats are riddled with bullets on the banks of the canal.
