N.Z. HOME BUILDERS. LTD.

TE KUITI BUILDING PROGRAMME. Messrs Hatrison and Abbott, two directors of the above company visited Te Kuiti on Tuesday and Wednesday last, making arrangements for several buildings which are to be erected here by the Home Builders, and opportunity was taken of their visit to glean a few of their proposed works. This company has now got on a sound business basis, and is beginning to operate in a large way. They are building in many towns between here and Auckland, as well as further down the line. In Taumarunui they have fourteen places under construction, including a large hotel of 40 rooms on the main street. Te Kuiti's present programme provides for some ten or twelve houses in addition to thosa that are now under way. It was learned that the directors look with favour upon this town as it was one of the first to give the company support by way of providing capital, many shares being placed here when the company was first mooted. Since then, however, great stride 3 have been made in the matter of raising capital, and to-day the company has over 750 shareholders on its register, and is rapidly adding to that list. Thsir business is non-speculative in that they require an order and a margin of Becnrity before they commence to build, but -that margin is very reasonable and does not prevent a man getting his home, who has any backing at all. One feature of their operations here is the fact that as far as possible the company use local labour, and spend as much as they can in the town by way of purchasing materials, therefore the work acts as a stimulent to the district. Moreover, «they purchase all materials in large quantities and for spot cash, and in this way they claim they can give the owner abetter house for his money than he can obtain through the usual channels. Mr Chas. Ryan, the company's representative, will be here for a few days, and is located at the Commercial Hotel, where he will be pleased to give any further particulars regarding the company to any enquirers.
