WORKERS' DWELLINGS.
REPRESENTATIONS BY MR JENNINGS. PRIME MINISTERS-' REPLY. During the last election campaign the question of workers' homes for Te Kuiti and other country centres, was a prominent subject for discussion. Mr W. T. Jennings, member for the district,, has written to the Prime Minister on the subject, and the following reply by Mr Massey will be of general interest: — "In reply I have to state that at your verbal request the Suparintendent sf Workers' Dwellings communicated with the secretary of the Chamber of Commerce, Taumarunui, explaining that the ffirst atep to be taken is for any workers, who desire to have workers'.'dwellings erected, to make application on forms which were enclosed With the letter. If any workers at Te Kuiti or elsewhere deaira the erection of workers' dwellings, they should make applications accordingly to the Superintendent of Workers'^Dwellings;'a number of forms is enclosed herewith for the purpose. It should be noted that the whole of the £lO deposit is not now required in ha first instance; a fee of £1 may be paid and the Board is prepared to erect the dwellings applied for, the remaining £9 will be collected. —W. F. Masaey."
