A.meeting o£ the Te Kuiti Rifle Club was held at the Alexandra Rink on Thursday evening, the president, Mr Mostyn Jones, being in the chair. It was announced that matters in connection with the rifle range had advanced a step further, and there whs every prospect of the range being obtained. After the meeting drill was held. A further meeting will be held on Thursday evening next, and it is intended, if possible, to arrange for a weekly drill. In connection with thß roading of Rangitoto block a settlers' meeting was held this we-»k, and it was decided to enlarge the scope of the special rating area of the Ahuroa special loan. The alteration will incude the putting through of a connecting road from the Ahuroa road to give access to the sections at the back close to the Waipa river. The amended scheme will mean the proper roading of a large . district, and should be of considerable importance in the development of a very promising locality, •■
