GERMAN ATTACKS REPULSED Received Tuesday, 10.40 p.m. Paris, Tuesday There is a very heavy fall of snow The Germans on the morning of the Ist, violently assaulted our trenches north of Bethune on the La Bassee road They were repulsed leaving numerous dead. The German infantry at Beaumont; Hamel, north of Albert, attempted a surprise, but were forced to fly, abandoning explosives There is great activity at FontaineMaideme and Bois-la-Grurie A German attack was repulsed towards Bagatelle
