POTATO CAKE 8. These are a useful supplement to the tea table when, something extra is needed at short notice.. Boil some potatoes and mash them, then "work in six ounces of flour, two ounces of sugar, two ounces of good dripping, half a teaspoonful of freshly-made baking powder, 'and a little warmed milk. Mix thoroughly, roll out, cut into rounds with the edge of a tin canister, and bake in a moderate oven. When done, tear the cakes open (do not use a knife) and butter them liberally. Press the halves together as muffins are pressed, and send to table in a muffin dish.
