THE BLUCHER'S FATE.
HALO OF FLAME. OFFICERS LOSE THEIR NERVE. Received Friday,; 11.20 p.m. London, Friday, It is reported the Seydlitz and Derflingfer got homfe, little more than afloat. The former was afire and the Derflinger had every gun out of action. A prisoner among the Blucher's survivors narrates how the British broadsides made the ship reel. Guns were torn from their settings and whole gun crews hurled to destruction. Men were swept from the deck like flies, and everywhere blood trickled and .flowed Shells burst in the interior and the vessjl was in a halo o.f flame. Those in authority lost their nerves, and were unable to stand the strain.
TERRIFYING SHELL FIRE. TRIBUTE FROM OFFICERS. Received Friday, 8.30 p.m. London, Friday. The Arethusa finished the Blucher with a couple of torpedoes. One of the Blucher's officers confessed the Fatherland might beat England on land; but on sea, never. Another remarked: "Your shells are terrifying, and your seamanship marvellous. A member of the Arethusa's crev states the Blucher's men were game to the last. As they lined the railß one of our officers megaphoned that a torpedo was coming. They instantly dived overboard and vve threw over hundreds of planks to which the Germans clung till they were rescued.'
