ATTACK IN SNOWSTORM.
SUPERIOR FRENCH ARTILLERY. ENEMY LOSE HEAVILY. Paris, Sunday. An official communique states:—Tho enemy is displaying more activity south-east of Ypres, whore he has delivered very sharp attacks. In the Argonne region, at Fontaine Madame, near St. Hubert, the enemy was repulsed after two vigorous French counter-attacks. A struggle at the Maria Therese works lasted the whole day, with extreme stronuousnesß on both sides. We maintained our position till nightfall. A heavy night attack by the Germans failed. The Germans, on Tuesday last, attempted to take advantage of a snowstorm and rush the French lines at Albert, in North France. The French artillery effected terrible execution. The Germans' columns staggered under a hail of shells, and broke down. Thereupon the French carried out a brilliant bayonet charge, the Germans being driven back all along the line, leaving large numbers of dead, and losing some trenches.
