OUR TROOPS IN EGYPT.
EAGER FOR EUROPE. London, Sunday. The High Commissioner for New Zealand, the Hon. Thomas Mackenzie, on his return from Egypt, crossed France within sound of the roar of the guna behind Soissons. Ho declares that the New Zealandera were bitterly disappointed when they first learned that they were to stay in Egypt. They are impatient to Bhow their qualities in Europe. They became more cheerful when they learned that they would soon be sent to France. The contingent is in excellent condition.
The Commonwealth High Commissioner, Sir George Reid, is delighted with the type of the Australasian contingents. Their presence in Egpyr, he says, is working even greeter effect than if they were in the'fighting line.
