THREE NATIVES KILLED

Taumarunui, Friday.

A terrible accident occurred this morning on the Taringamutu Timber Company's line. A train of open trucks and a covered passenger car runs from Taringamutu on the Main Trunk line, to the bush at Wa'ituhi. A number of Maoris travelled on the open tracks, and some pakehas were travelling in the covered car. Apparently the train ran off the line, as the trucks overturned. A Maori child was killed, and the mother waa badly injured. Two Maori women each had a leg broken, and a third native broke her arm. Fortunately, the fact that the passenger van was covered saved thfe Europeans, who were uninjured. Later.
