NORTHERN FRENCH FRONT.
HEAVY FIGHTING AT SOISSONS. ALLIES GIVE GROUND. Ths High Commissioner reports under date of London, January 13tb: — Paris reports state that parsistent bad weather has interfered with operations along the entire front. The struggle is still proceeding on a spur north-west of Soissons, the Allies maintaining the top and west of the slope, but giving ground in the east. Between Soisgons and Berry-au-Bac artillery caused explosions at various points in the German batteries. The salient of the redoubt north of Beau Sejour, in the Souaio region, remains in French hands, and a trench has been established 60 metres from the Germans.
