FATALITY AT MANGAPEEHI.

MAN'S NECK BROKEN,

A fatal accident occurred at Mangapeehi on Thursday evening, a railway surfaceman named Matthew O'Leary sustaining a broken neck. It appears the man walked up the railway in the evening about-eight o'clock and fell over a culvert, a distance of about 20 feet. A post-mortem examination by Dr Mcßae, of Te Kuiti, disclosed the fact that the unfortunate man's neck was broken. An inquest was held' yesterday by Mr J. Boddie, Coroner, when a verdict in accordance with the medical testimony was returned.
