FAT STOCK MARKET.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency reports:— At WestfieH yards on Wednesday fat cattle came forward in I'ull numbers, and the quality in most cases was not up to tho previous week. Firßt quality improved in valueß, prime oxen selling to 4(Js, others 36a (3d to 39s 6d. Steers sold from £8 10s to £l6, cows, heist quality £8 to £l3, others £5 to £7 10s. Light inferior fatted cow beef was much lower. A draft of 20 steers from Mr James Given, Green Hill estate, averaged £ls Ba. Veal calves came forward in record number?, and receded in values from 10s to 15s per head. Heavy vealera £3 10s to £4 10s, medium weights £2 2s to £3, lighter 20s to 38s, smaller 8s to 17s, small and fresh dropped 2a upwards. Sheep were penned in extra large numbers, and sold at slightly lower rates. Best wethers 21s 3d to 24a 9d, otherß 14a 6d to 20s 9d, ewes, extra heavy 18s 6d to 22s 9d, others IBs Gd to 20b, hoggets 15s Oki to 19s 9d. Lambs were yarded in very large numbers, and sold under steady competition at lower values. Best sold at 15s to 61a 6d, others 8s to 14s 9d. Pigs were penned in very large numbers, and sold well. No large baconers were yarded. Baconera £2 12a to £3 sa, large porkers 32s to 455, porkers 25a co 30s, slips 18s to 245, weaners 4s to 15a.

Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their Johnsonville Bale as follows: —A fair yarding of stock came forward and sold at la to rates. Prime heavy bullockß ,£ls 7s 6d, prime bullocks Xltu £l3 2s 6d, lighter .£l2 ss, light .£9 2a Cd, prime heavy wethers 24b, light wethera 218 to 225, prime ewes 20d to 20s 3d, light ewes 18s to 18s Gd, prime iambß 15s Gd to 16s Id, ilght 14b to 14s rd, extra prime shorn 15s 5d to 16s.
