He mentions the expedition was officially informed the Turks had put up a gun in the Red Sea with a view to blowing the convoy out of the water, but a Force at Aden chased them off and captured the gun. As we pasHed through the Canal camps Indian troops were stretched along the banks and welcomed the Australasians cordially. Thn voyage was one continuous drill, drill, drill.
