LAST OF KONIGSBERG.
SUNK IN RIVER, London, Sunday. Captain Willett, of the steamer Newbridge, which was Bunk at the mouth of the . Rupji river, in German East Africa, m order to prevent the German cruiser Konigsberg from escaping, has .arrived in England. He states that the Germans had skilfully concealed the Konigsberg among the palms on the river ba'nk, and she could not be seen until the British obtained an aeroplane, which dropped smoke bomb?, revealing the Konigsberg's position. The . British then shelled and sank the cruiser. Captain Willett believes that the Konigsberg's crew perished with her.
