FAT STOCK SALES. Messrs Alfred Buckland and Son's report aa follows : On Wednesday, at our weekly Westfield fat stock market, our supply of beef totalled 437 head. Competition was steady throughout, and in some instances last week'u values were improved on. Choica ox sold to 40s, prime to 3Ps, ordinary quality 37u Gd, cows and heifera 345; steers ranged in price from £8 15 to £IG 10s, cows and heifers £4 10s to £l2 7s Gd. Ma/iy consignments of steers averaged between £l4 10a and £ls Bs. There was nil average yarding of fat imhl young calves, which met with a firmer sblg at advanced rates. Runners sold to £5 Ip, heavy suckers £3 3a to £4, Tiedium suckers £2 10s to £3, lig ter 30s to 45?, light 17s to 2Ss, fresh dropped 3s to 15s. The slerp yarded penß were moderately filled with a nice class mutton. There wa? a firm demand, last week's values being easily maintained, and in seveial instances exeseded. Extra prime heavy weathers 25) 9d to 27s 6d, heavy prime wcthera 23a 3d to 24s Gd, medium to heavy 19* Gd to 235. light to medium l(!s Gil to 18s Gd, unfinished 14i fid to Ids, extra he&vy prime awes 21« Gd to 23a Gd, good prime ewes 19s to 21s, others 12s to 18a 6d. Lambs cmna forward in easily record numbers' Competition waa keen, exporters taking the major portion. Extra heavy 18a Gd to 21s, good 16s Gd to 18s, lighter 14s to lGs. small 113 to 13a 9J, a few pens of stores 7s to 10a Gd. ?iga eamo forward in miliar more ihan average numbers. The demand was keen throughout at values which were in advance of late rates. Heavy baconera sold up to £3 Bs, medium £2 J9a to £3 ss, light £2 14s to £2 18s, large porkers £2 7s to £?, 13p, medium 37s to 455, light 28s to 355, weaners to Gd, suckers to Bs.
