A Commission reports the most terrible massacre in France that at Gerbeuillers, in the Vosges,'on August 24th, tha- Bavarians burnt bouses, shooting and . stabbing regardless of age orsss. Over four hundred houses Were destroyed and fifty were massacred in thair homes. Many nameless offences wers , committed. Another horrible butchery occurred in the Momeny department bstween, Meurthe and Mosael. They ' fired ' buildings whsra many were hidden in cellars.
