There was eome desperate fighting en the 2nd and 3rd in the Bolimoff region, where the Germans lost six machine guns and a number of prisoners. , Fresh progress is reported in West Galieia. A whole Austrian battaliaon surrendered in t ; he Uzok Paaa. In the • same district a hostile column wiih the staff was captured, together with military document".

Tto Daily Mail's Petrograd correspondent says one Russian army is pursuing the Austnans on the Hungarian side of the Carpathians; another is approaching tha frontier in Transylvania, having almost subdued resistance.. AS Bukovina the Russians nearness to th.3 Roumanian frontier is -increasing the Roumanian eagerness to join them and- seize Transylvania.
