SHEFFIELD STEEL TRADE.

The war has already sent a certain amount uf trade to Sheffield steel manufaituiers, and more is likely to follow. A large order for shoes and dies for Fremantle which was recently booked is stated to represent business which formerly went to German. These heavy mining implements were put upon the market by that country at a cheap rate. The bayonet works are among those which are naturally benefiting by the war, and their present state of activity is in Vflry satisfactory contrast to the idleness of the past three years. Other new work which has recently gone to Sheffield includes contracts for considerable tonnage of steel for Yokohama, Kobe, and Huelva.
