GERMANS LED TO TRAP,

During the fighting at Dixmunde a company of French blue jackets was surroundd and ihe majority were killed and the survivors surrendered with an officer. The German officers demanded they should be shown a safe passage across the Yser. Thß French officer led the way to Dixmunde bridge where the French were in strong force. The prisoners shouted to their romradea that they would be captured. Tha German officer attacked the French officer, and the latter shot him. The detachment escaped to the French lines covered by their comrades' firs. The
